I rang them and told them about my vehicle in detail, a 2007 VW Passat, explaining the transmission was gone but that the engine was still starting, and that it was still in good condition overall. I also said I just needed assistance getting my head unit out. I sent photos and we agreed on $900. He did try to lowball me when he arrived with an offer of $600, but we discussed it’s condition on the phone. If he was only willing to pay a certain amount he should have been more transparent about that on the call, “ie: I can offer from x up to x amount but can’t make a promise till I see the car”. I could have kept shopping for quotes if I had known I would wind up getting just $700 for the vehicle and it’s $300 CarPlay unit.
